During the operation, the plastic surgeon removes the fat cells from the problem areas and transplants them into the chest, buttocks, legs or other parts of the body. Own fat takes settled down perfectly, naturally looks and does not give allergic reactions. Part of the fat cells after the procedure may dissipate but the main part will remain for 7-10 years.
Indications for lipofilling
Lipofilling is recomended for women and men who would like to make a safe correction of their appearance: enlarge breasts or buttocks, eliminate asymmetry, and emphasize beautiful parts of the body. Also, the procedure may be used for rejuvenation – after one session, you can get rid of small and mimic wrinkles. At the same time, part of the fat will be removed from some problem area: abdomen, buttocks, thighs, or back — a slimming effect will occur.
Lipofilling is not suitable if the patient wants to add a lot of volume to the chest, buttocks or other part of the body. For such purposes it is better to use implants.

The process and features of the procedure
Lipofilling takes place in several stages. Let us examine each of them in detail.
- Preparation for surgery. The doctor marks the points for the collection and introduction of fat tissue, photographs the operation area and disinfects the skin.
- Anesthesia. Lipofilling procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia.
- Fat tissue collection. In a specially marked area, the plastic surgeon is collecting fat. These are usually the body’s problems areas: hips, abdomen, or buttocks. As a result, liposuction of these zones occurs.
- Fat processing. The adipose tissue is centrifuged and cleaned. The final mixture should be homogeneous to easily pass through the tip of the syringe. Sometimes the resulting emulsion is additionally enriched with patient’s blood plasma or stem cells.
- Fat cell transplantation. The doctor collects the processed fat mixture in the syringe and performs its transplantation under the skin. Consequently, the working area acquires additional volume.
After several injections, the procedure is considered complete. On average, a body plastics takes from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the volume of the operation. After the procedure, the patient can return to regular life.
After lipofilling, no scars remain on the skin. All intakes and fat cell injections are carried out through micro discharges or a syringe – after such an introduction there are no scars on the skin.
Rehabilitation period and aftercare
Hematomas and slight swelling of the skin may appear in the first few days after lipofilling. You should not be afraid of them – these symptoms will disappear within a week.
In the first 14 days after the procedure, doctors recommend avoiding physical exertion, taking baths, saunas and attending swimming pools. You should also refrain from taking alcohol and smoking – this can slow down the tissue healing process.
